Church Bathroom Decorating

I redecorated the main women's bathroom at my church
recently... It was remodeled to be handicap accessible, and
I was asked to spruce it up a little.

The main area that I decorated was a little sitting area.

The first thing I found was the bench.  Then I added the
pillows and the rug.  The green floor vase with branches
was the next thing I knew I liked in that space.  I knew I
wanted a small table with a flower arrangement on the other
side of the bench (the table ended up being one of the
hardest items to find) and then I added the clock. I love the
round, metal decorative piece behind the bench.  I had a lady
from church make the curtains (thanks Marge!)  and hung them
on a shower curtain rod. I got some free wall art by framing
printables that I found online - I think they work perfectly in here!
And of course, every women's bathroom needs a full length mirror,
so I got a HUGE one! It took up a chunk of the budget, but I love it!

In the stalls, I hung up a couple more frames with cute printables
that I found online. The frames resembled the mirrors that were
already hung up over the counter.  In the handicap stall, I also
added a large canvas print.

The countertop didn't have much space after soap and
tissues were set out, so all I did there was add a
flower arrangement similar to the one in the sitting area.

There is a small area behind the door of the bathroom that I wasn't
going to do anything to, BUT I had an extra frame, and then found a
fake plant at the church that wasn't being used. My mom suggested
doing a scenery picture in this frame, and I love the one we found online =)

Superhero Birthday Party

My nephew, Ethan, turned 4 last month!!
His mom (Kelly) planned a SUPERHERO
party for the family.....

Kelly made this cake herself - she is so talented!
All of Ethan's favorite superhero's on one cake -
Superman, Spiderman, and Batman!  Kelly made
a city skyline backdrop for the cake table, out of
black posterboard and colored foam.

She got superhero masks and capes with each kid's
initial as party favors - the kids loved them!
And the photo op area was so adorable...

And one of Ethan's favorite things about the party
was the weight that his uncles couldn't lift because
they weren't superhero's, but Ethan and his friends
could because they were!! It's amazing how entertaining
2 spraypainted foam balls attached to a pole can be for kids!
But they just loved it... the uncles were great to play it up bigtime =)
**if you watch, make sure your sound is on!**

Great party Kel! The kids had such a good time,
and so did all of us "big kids!" I wish I would have
gotten a better pictures of the kids in their
costumes, but this is as good as it gets:

Summer Gift Bucket for Kids

I absolutely LOVE these cute little birthday gifts
that I put together so easily a couple weekends ago!!
They were for 1 year old girls, but the same idea can
definitely apply to boys as well.

I really wanted to give something that would actually
be useful.  Let's face it, most kids already have too many
toys as it is. AND... these little girls are some of the best
dressed tots I know, so I didn't really want to go with the
whole outfit-with-a-matching-hairbow route either.
I decided to do a beach/pool themed gift, so here's what
I came up with:

Sand bucket with shovel
Bathing suit
Spray sunscreen for babies
Bladeless fan
Travel size wet wipes
Animal snack container

I put a couple pieces of tissue paper in the
bottom of the bucket, and arranged the items
in the bucket.

Wrapped the whole thing in cellophane, and
tied a simple bow around it. And that's it!!

I forgot to take a picture of the other bucket's items
before putting the cellophane around it - it had pretty
much the same stuff, but had a cute yellow polka dot
two piece with a pink ruffle flower on it - it was so cute!

Other things that I didn't get for these buckets, but I think
would be cute ideas to use in future gifts would be:
beach towel
rash guard
sunglasses
flip flops
floaties
hat
