What Will It BEE?? A Gender Reveal Party!

On Thanksgiving Day, my friends Josh and Lauren
announced that they were pregnant! I am thrilled for
them and know that they will be amazing parents!

They threw a Gender Reveal party with a bee theme
on Saturday evening and it was just so cute :)

I loved the baby book that all the guests signed. And
this is one of the cutest diaper cakes I've seen!

Honey sticks were handed out as favors.

Josh's sister made this sign that was at the entrance of the party. Perfect!

5 out of 7 Old Wives Tales predicted a boy....

Josh and Lauren served lots of yummy food... I didn't good pictures of
the regular food... they had Rollzzz and Bunzzz for ham sandwiches,
Meatballzzz, Chipzzz and Salsa, and Deviled Eggzzz!

The dessert table was pretty impressive though!!

I loved the decorations too... gotta love a party where
stuff hangs from the rafters!

The news was inside this giant balloon... Josh and Lauren
had their ultrasound tech put the picture in an envelope and seal
it. They took the envelope, this giant balloon, along with pink and
blue confetti to a local florist shop and told the florist to wait til
they left to look at the ultrasound and fill the balloon with the
correct color confetti. Poor Josh... the suspense was killing him!

Everyone who thought it was a girl...

Everyone who thought it was a boy....

And now for the big reveal....!!!!!

IT'S A BOY!!!!

Bronson Josiah Arrick... due May 2014!!
Can you believe Lauren is almost 5 months
preggo? She is so tiny and just beautiful!!
Congratulations friends... I've already bought some
baby boy stuff for baby Bronson!! I love him already!

More Diaper Wreaths

I've made a few diaper wreaths here in the
last couple weeks... lots of people having babies!
I did a little something different with all three....

The parents-to-be aren't finding out the gender
of the baby beforehand, so I used yellow and green
for the color scheme. I cut circles out of scrapbook
paper and hot glued them to the the diapers.

This next wreath was for a coworker of mine. They are
decorating his nursery in a New York Rangers baseball
theme. The name is spelled with stickers that I reinforced
with hot glue so they wouldn't peel off. And don't you just
love the little baseballs beside the baby's name?!?

For this last wreath I used scrapbook paper for the
baby's name, cutting the letters out with a cricut.
You can't tell, but the scrapbook paper has parts that are
glittered! I put the wreath together at work during my
breaks, so lots of my coworkers kept coming by to see the
progress. The picture doesn't do it justice - it's so sweet!

Click HERE to see previous diaper wreaths I've
made and the instructions on how to make them.
It's so easy, but everyone really loves them!

Chevron Baby Boy Wreath

I made this wreath for a coworker of mine last week, which was
just in time... because Hendrix (such a cute name!) was born the
very next day! I knew the nursery was decorated with an Ohio
State theme, so I figured I could use gray and red colors on
the wreath, and it would blend in with their nursery too.

This was SO simple to make...
I got the wreath, chevron burlap ribbon, and
letters from Hobby Lobby. I already had
the twine and paint.

The chevron burlap ribbon was JUST enough
to wrap the wreath with - 5 yards of ribbon on a 14" wreath.
I painted the front of the letters red and hot glued
them down the side of the wreath.  Tied a twine ribbon at
the top to hang it with, and it's all done!

I also bought stuff to make myself a chevron
wreath... hoping to make it soon....!!

Baby's Name Wreath

I am SO excited to have another nephew!
Zeb Christopher Raynes was born on
Friday, April 5th, at 12:52 pm, weighing in at
at 7 lbs 1 oz!! Such a precious baby boy =)

I got to find out the baby's first name the night before
he was born, and made this wreath on the day of. I
think it's so cute, (but something different than a diaper
wreath, which are cute too) and it matches his nursery perfectly!

I just wrapped burlap ribbon around a straw wreath...

Hot glued the end down in place...

Mod podged scrapbook paper onto wooden letters
and let it dry.  You can see the outline of the B below...

Then I flipped the letters over and used
a boxcutter to cut around the letters...

Then I hot glued the Z and B to the wreath, and
overlapped the E onto the other letters to glue that down.
Finished it off with a blue ribbon to hang it with. I love it!

The wreath is cute, but not nearly as cute as my brand new nephew =)
He was perfectly healthy and I'm one proud aunt!!!

And I can't leave out Zeb's big sister, Tallie... she is so
cute with him... she affectionately named him "Monkey" while
he was in mommy's belly, so that's what everyone else started
calling him too... calling him Zeb will take some gettin' used to...
Anyways, this picture of Tallie holding her brother is so precious
so I HAD to include it =)

Bowtie Baby Shower

My sister, Rebekah, helped with a baby shower over the
weekend... it was so adorable! One of her friends from Louisville,
Cherish, is having a baby boy soon. Cherish's mom and mother-in-law
were the ones who threw the brunch shower, and just had Rebekah help
them with some of the crafty touches =)

I love that it was a bowtie theme - so cute and appropriate for a baby boy!
Rebekah made bowtie's out of various blue fabric patterns and added them to
a few different things throughout the shower...

bowtie mason jar drinking glasses (with adorable striped straws):

bowtie frames (painted blue) with maternity pictures

bowtie guest book instruction frame

bowtie drink dispensers

bowtie candy favor jars

Gotta say thanks to Terri Owens for giving
us these jars - they were the perfect size!

Another way that bowtie's were incorporated into the shower was by cinching in
the napkins with ribbon to make them more in the shape of a bowtie. So cute!

And seriously.... how cute are the french toast sticks in shot glasses with syrup
in the bottom? I love it! The rest of the food looks delicious too. And the
mini chalkboards are such a cute touch to label all the food and drinks =)

One of my most favorite things about this shower are the
necktie bibs that Rebekah made! So stinkin' cute!!!

Congrats Josh and Cherish... and we all can't wait til Baby Wilson is
born so we can found out his name! It's a secret!

Yarn Wreath for Baby's Door

Another great baby shower gift!!!

I used to always make diaper wreaths to give as baby shower
gifts (click here to see). They can hang on a hospital room
door when the baby is born, and then can go home with the family
and hang somewhere in the nursery.  But if you happen to
know what the baby's nursery will be ahead of time, a custom
wreath to go with the nursery decor is such a good idea too!

I made this yarn wreath for a baby shower gift a while back...
My coworker was hosting a baby shower for a friend of hers,
someone that I didn't know.  I offered to help her decorate the night
before the shower, and it turned out that the mom-to-be was there too.
So when I found out that she didn't have anything to hang on the
the hospital door, I knew I had to make something cute for her!
I had about 16 hours to pull something together...

I found out that the baby's nursery was vintage/chic, and I didn't think a
diaper wreath really went with that kind of nursery. So I picked a soft, thin
light pink yarn and wrapped it around a straw wreath form. I made a few
rosettes out of gray and white felt, and added a few green felt leaves.
I bought some glittery letters and hot glued them onto the wreath.
Not too bad for a last minute gift, huh? Sweet and simple =)
