Bub's Photo Blanket!

I seriously think this is one of the the
funniest gifts I've ever helped with....

My brother is in a long distance relationship, (we
love her!) and even though it's super corny, he liked
the idea of getting his girlfriend a blanket with his face
plastered all over it - So even when they're apart,
she can still snuggle with him! Dorky, but sweet, right?!?

Originally, we thought we could do one giant
picture of him, but because the resolution of the
pictures I had weren't high enough, we had to go with
a collage... which I think I like better anyways now!
I just ordered it from Walmart.com and had it shipped
straight to his girlfriend in Los Angeles.

I know...
Best. Gift. Ever.

How I Wrapped Christmas Presents in 2013

I typically coordinate my wrapping paper every year for
Christmas (click HERE to see 2012's wrapping).... for this
year, I chose my wrapper paper based on some gold and black
zebra print ribbon that I've had for about three years now and
really wanted to use.

I bought a bunch of different gold and black paper from Target
and just used ribbon and bows that I already had on hand.
I really love how they all turned out!

I only have just a few more presents to wrap.... hoping to
finish that up tonight!!!

Another FALL Deco Mesh Wreath

A couple weeks ago I shared a deco mesh
wreath that I made for my mom.... well, a
family friend of ours loved my mom's wreath
so much... I decided to make a similar one for
her. I lucked out and didn't even have to
make another trip to the craft store!

For this wreath, I used brown deco mesh around
the inner and outer circles, then the orange deco
mesh in the middle.  I found this FALL sign at
AC Moore (40% off) and attached it to the deco
mesh with fishing line.  I hot glued berries and
pumpkins around the perimeter to finish it up.

Hope you like it Mike and Sandy!!
I'm kind of getting the urge to make
a new fall wreath for myself... picked up
a couple supplies Sunday, so hopefully
it turns out as good as it looks in my mind =)

I'm 1 Proud Craft "Mom"... Fall Initial Yarn Wreath by Jodi

I just have to brag on my friend, Jodi, who has
started getting into the whole DIY wreath craze.
She wanted to get a wreath for her brother and
sister-in-law to put up at their new house. Originally,
she wanted to buy one for them, but was persuaded
that she could definitely make something herself.
And here's what she came up with:

Jodi made these flowers by watching youtube
videos - I am so impressed! The larger flowers
she hot glued to the wreath and then reinforced with
pearl corsage pins.  The smaller flowers were
attached with only the pins. I love the fun colors she
chose for the flowers, and that she made different kinds.

She found these O rings that are for curtains,
tiebacks and hangings. She looped ribbon
into the O and pinned the ribbon to the wreath
with the corsage pins. The length can easily be
changed or removed altogether. Such a cute idea =)

I'm such a proud craft mom haha! Ususally, wreaths
like this sell for $35-$40 on Etsy.  But Jodi spent just a
little over $20 on the supplies for this wreath and a little bit of
time. Definitely worth it, in my opinion! But just because
Jodi has shown me that she CAN make a wreath doesn't
mean I won't make them for her anymore... I'm in the
process of making a fall one for her right now! I should
have it finished after this weekend, as long as I can use
my hot glue gun in the car on our road trip =)

Harvest Blessings Deco Mesh Wreath

My mom asked me to make her a fall
themed wreath.  She wanted deco mesh
to be used, and preferred to not have an
initial on it. So this is what I came up with:
I used orange deco mesh for the inner and outer
circles of the wire wreath. I used brown deco mesh
in the middle circle. I searched high and low for a
sign that I would like for the middle of the wreath - this
one isn't exactly what I was looking for, but it is still
cute. I found it at AC Moore and it was 40% off =) I
used fishing line to secure the sign to the deco mesh.

My sister helped me make a final decision on what
to put around the rest of the wreath... I couldn't quite
make up my mind, so it was nice that she made the
decision for me! The pumpkins and berries are from
Hobby Lobby and were hot glued to the mesh.  It turned out
very pretty, and my mom seemed pleased with it!

I have a lot of these supplies leftover, so I've decided
to make a similar one for someone in particular... hoping
to get it done soon, and when I do, I'll be sure to share!

Marshall Cornhole Boards

As a surprise to my husband I had our plain white
cornhole boards painted with a Marshall theme by a
friend of ours! She's ridiculously talented (click HERE
to see the pallet wall hanging she made for us!) and did
a great job on them! Isaiah absolutely loved them.

My mom ordered Marshall bean bags to go with the
set for Isaiah's birthday. Thought it was appropriate to
post now, with tailgating season in full swing!

GO HERD!! =)

Summer Gift Bucket for Kids

I absolutely LOVE these cute little birthday gifts
that I put together so easily a couple weekends ago!!
They were for 1 year old girls, but the same idea can
definitely apply to boys as well.

I really wanted to give something that would actually
be useful.  Let's face it, most kids already have too many
toys as it is. AND... these little girls are some of the best
dressed tots I know, so I didn't really want to go with the
whole outfit-with-a-matching-hairbow route either.
I decided to do a beach/pool themed gift, so here's what
I came up with:

Sand bucket with shovel
Bathing suit
Spray sunscreen for babies
Bladeless fan
Travel size wet wipes
Animal snack container

I put a couple pieces of tissue paper in the
bottom of the bucket, and arranged the items
in the bucket.

Wrapped the whole thing in cellophane, and
tied a simple bow around it. And that's it!!

I forgot to take a picture of the other bucket's items
before putting the cellophane around it - it had pretty
much the same stuff, but had a cute yellow polka dot
two piece with a pink ruffle flower on it - it was so cute!

Other things that I didn't get for these buckets, but I think
would be cute ideas to use in future gifts would be:
beach towel
rash guard
sunglasses
flip flops
floaties
hat

Monogram Necklace

My Valentine's Day present finally arrived!!!

Listen girls.... I know some of you are blessed with husbands
that are hopelessly romantic... but let's face it, the majority
of us have a husband who seriously lacks in the thoughtful-
gift-giving-department!! I mean, for my birthday, I was given
a digital scale. Practical? Yes, because we didn't own one.
Sweet and Romantic? Umm... that's a BIG FAT NO!

So to make it easier on my husband, I told him exactly what I
wanted. I figured that if I didn't, I would get a gift as equally "romantic"
as the digital scale, or possibly some flowers that he would
hurry up to order at the last minute... And even though I do love
flowers, I prefer our money be spent on something that'll last longer.

So I've been loving this necklace for a while - it's been in my US Weekly
magazines, and I pinned it on Pinterest a while back too.  So I pulled up
the website, MyNameNecklace.com, walked my husband through each
step of ordering, and had him push the "Pay Now" button. I know a bunch
of you are thinking that I took all the fun and mystery out of Valentine's Day,
but I am being 100% honest when I say that I totally forgot about it, so 2
weeks later when it arrived and Isaiah gave it to me, I was thrilled!!

I can't wait to wear it! Happy belated Valentine's Day to ME!
